Deeds Not Words

Art Direction, Illustration, Trainings

The mission of Deeds Not Words is to galvanize the power of young women to disrupt the status quo through organizing, policy-making, art and voting.

As Art Director at Deeds Not Words, I focus on creating art that uplifts Black, Indigenous, women of color. This includes creating engaging social media posts, breaking down Texas policy into accessible education and print materials for our members to hand out for education and recruitment.

I also launched the organizations first Artist in Residency program with a focus on art and activism. Through this program I provide mentorship to young artists and  guide them in creating art that centers women and their narrative. From using personal experience to educate women about the TX Lege to dimistifying sex myths, the art program harnesses the power of young women and elevates them to take control of their own stories.
